Changes to the CtrlPrint PDF Presets (Resolution Increase and New Naming Convention)
We recently updated our system to enhance the quality of exported PDF files and streamline the process for managing tracked changes. This update includes an increase in resolution and changes the PDF preset names you see on the platform.
What Has Changed?
The default resolution for our PDF export presets has been increased to 150dpi for a better viewing experience. Along with this quality increase, we have updated the naming convention of the presets:
Old Preset Name |
New Preset Name |
Functionality |
Default |
No TrackChanges |
This preset generates a clean PDF that will not include tracked changes, even if the TrackChanges function is active in your document. |
– |
TrackChanges | This is a new preset that will automatically appear in your project's list only when the TrackChanges function is activated. Use this preset to generate a PDF that displays all tracked changes. |
Action Required for Existing Projects
For projects that were already in progress before the system update, the original PDF settings for the "Default" preset (which is now called "No TrackChanges") are still active. This means the "No TrackChanges" PDF will incorrectly include tracked changes.
To apply the new settings:
- Open the affected chapter using either InDesign or InCopy.
- Save the chapter back to the server.
This action updates the project with the new system settings. The next time you generate a PDF using the "No TrackChanges" preset, the file will be clean (no tracked changes included).
